CPRT had a Picture Perfect Kicker signal on December the 1st. And, the price has not become extended from that signal. Also, the price has held so the signal is holding. If there is nothing further to analyze about Kicker Signals, this should still be a good play. No doubt, the stock could always come back and test the 50 Day MA.

Wait for the breakout to the upside of the resistance line created by the flag on the pole formed over 3 to 7dec04. Target could then be the height of the pole added to the price breakout level
Just a suggestion to play the move and not the gamble

It would have been nice to have seen the Stochastic below 20 on Dec 1st.
the Stochastic is now in the extended area.

Just playing Devil's Advocate here: Very Happy

From p. 56 of Steve's book:

Quote:
The Kicker Signal is formed by two candles. The first candle opens and moves in the direction of the current trend. The second candle opens at the same open of the previous day, a gap open, and heads in the opposite direction of the previous day's candle.

Here CPRT was trending up (starting in mid-Oct with the Doji and stochs in oversold area), so black candle on Nov 30 not really in direction of current trend. Plus, white candle on Dec 1 didn't open at previous candle's open.

You make a valid point. Thanks for bringing out the book stuff. It could be that this is not a true kicker. Hopefully, Steve will give us some input on this one.

Thanks

that is a good kicker, the gap up and continued buying, the consolidation since then has not revealed anything that would indicate that the sellers are in with force, they have not been able to close the price below the closing price of the white candle of the kicker. keep holding, be patient, would be be afraid to hold onto a stock that is not really pulling back all that much after a major change in investor sentiment. note when it moved from $18.50 to $23 in early nov. there was two plus weeks of consolidation. expect the same here
