Just a quick question. For those of you who use ATR in your analysis, what number of days do typically use? I know the default on stockcharts is 14 but I was curious if there might be a more ideal parameter number.

Thanks,
Mesa

I use 10, but am aware that usually at the entry the volatility increases quite a bit. Something adaptive would probably work better.

Pre-Candlesticks, I used ATR quite a bit for a mechanical stop with pretty good results on intermediate term trades.

Nowadays I sometimes use it as one tool in the preponderance of evidence.
